NOT2WO
NOT2WO (pronounced "Not Two") is a new graphic t-shirt company based in New York City founded by Alice Kim, a fashion designer with a fondness for graphic design.
The name is a stylized derivation of the Zen term "Not Two," which is itself a contraction of the longer "Two but Not Two" and also "Not One and Not Two." Simply, Not Two expresses the non-dual, non-conceptual nature of suchness, or the is-ness of all things. It points to the mistaken identity we hold of ourselves as somehow existing separately from each other, whereas in reality, we are all interrelated and interconnected in so many ways.
The t-shirts are canvases upon which Alice expresses her path of self-reflection, her journey of discovering things as they are. Her aim is to present the subject in a way that is visually compelling, inspires contemplation, and generates within a desire for further investigation and study.
